The karts will also have customizable features that will include different skins to mix and match with players’ characters.Building upon its celebrated 15-year history, KartRider: Drift delivers all the action of its predecessor with even more drift challenges and deeper customization. It’s worth noting that the customization aspect of KartRider: Drift is purely cosmetic, and will have no effect on performance. A variety of different skins will be available at launch for players to choose from for their characters. Team: Customization will be available for characters as well as the karts they will drive. I understand there will be some customization present, what sort of options will be available for that feature? Time Trial will help players improve their drifting techniques as they try to beat their previous personal best time. These items include objects such as mines, clouds, UFO’s and more. Team: So with KartRider: Drift, we’re utilizing a number of cross-platform functions, including cross play, and cross progression. I understand there will be cross-platform capabilities, could you describe how that feature will be used in the game? This feature will make it easy to play and compete with global players with similar skills. Global matchmaking is also a unique feature to KartRider: Drift developed for western audiences. This was important for us in order to provide a true global game. Since the original, we’ve included updated and optimized features for both PC and Xbox One including cross-play in order for players all over the world to experience the same gameplay in one place. Team: We consider KartRider: Drift to be the next generation of the original game that’s so beloved in Korea. With KartRider being an older franchise, what’s new with this version for Xbox One and PC (Nexon Launcher)? Additional, what’s been adjusted for western audiences? It’s also the first game we’re launching on Xbox One with cross-play functionality, which is very exciting for us. There’s a real emphasis on driving and drifting mechanics that we’re incredibly proud of, which we’re sure will appeal to players of varying skills. For KartRider: Drift, we’re changing things up by incorporating the art of drifting in a way that other kart racing games don’t. Overall, I would give this game a 7.5 out of 10. The soundtrack reminds me of Dark Souls, but doesn’t quite get there on the same level. Customization seems to be lacking in the early stages, but you can unlock perks and develop how you want. I actually like it, despite being frustrated for nearly an hour. Even my previous dead bodies piled up before I won. I spent maybe 45 minutes just running straight from the respawn back to Konrad to make some sort of progress. There are no serious consequences to dying, just obstacles you can overcome with relentless retries and a lot of tenacity. The game is harder in some parts but ridiculous in others. Just kill mobs and loot them and you will be restocked in seconds. I learned the hard way that you can lose all of the healing items in your quick item slots – but they are easily replaceable. Mobs have considerable drops and even provide crafting materials necessary for your survival. The introduction does not give away much, just perhaps depicts the brutality of the world where the strong prey upon the weak, but at the end of the day it is the most tenacious who will survive.įinding amor sets is relatively easy. Items don’t have descriptions, so it is very limiting to learn about the world. Characters give off a Dark Souls vibe, like the Abandoned Soldier seems like the Crestfallen Knight. I am not sure what the story is, but there are hints of lore around us. At the time of me writing this, I am the only player out the 99.9% who own the game to have defeated Konrad, and that is incredibly shocking. This is a good time to jump and get some hits in. Konrad specifically has a jump attack that creates an area of affect. The hopeful part is that it is possible to learn their move sets and what they are likely to do. Likewise, the first boss encounter with Konrad the Traitor will prove to be very frustrating. Enemies become predictable after fighting many of the same varient. ![]() This proves to be a beneficial trait throughout the journey and is incredibly useful in the first boss encounter. Unlike Dark Souls, you can jump in Bleak Faith. Here, you just have it, and you respawn from the same location. Dark Souls has that as well, but not without putting in the work to make it possible. The setting design is well done but is undercut by the additional feature of a fast travel. You will navigate around an area and find ways to open paths, bringing you full circle. ![]() My only frame of reference is Dark Souls, and it operates a lot like that. The first area of the game is like Fire-link Shrine in Dark Souls, a ruinous place of stone and infested with hollowed out creatures. Bleak Faith, however, is a confusing blend of Science Fiction and Medieval Fantasy. They are both difficult titles with similar characters and challenges. Bleak Faith: Forsaken, by developer/publisher Archangel Studios, is a third-person open world RPG, closely reminiscent of Dark Souls. ![]() The main variety of atomic clock uses caesium atoms cooled to temperatures that approach absolute zero. The timekeeping accuracy of the involved atomic clocks is important because the smaller the error in time measurement, the smaller the error in distance obtained by multiplying the time by the speed of light is (a timing error of a nanosecond or 1 billionth of a second (10 −9 or 1⁄ 1,000,000,000 second) translates into an almost 30-centimetre (11.8 in) distance and hence positional error). The accurate timekeeping capabilities of atomic clocks are also used for navigation by satellite networks such as the European Union's Galileo Program and the United States' GPS. The system of Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) that is the basis of civil time implements leap seconds to allow clock time to track changes in Earth's rotation to within one second while being based on clocks that are based on the definition of the second. This definition is the basis for the system of International Atomic Time (TAI), which is maintained by an ensemble of atomic clocks around the world. It is defined by taking the fixed numerical value of the caesium frequency, Δ ν C s, the unperturbed ground-state hyperfine transition frequency of the caesium 133 atom, to be 9 192 631 770 when expressed in the unit Hz, which is equal to s −1. This law will be discussed in more detail in Unit 13 of The Physics Classroom. Regardless of the angle at which the wavefronts approach the barrier, one general law of reflection holds true: the waves will always reflect in such a way that the angle at which they approach the barrier equals the angle at which they reflect off the barrier. The diagram below shows the reflected wavefronts and the reflected ray. Upon reaching the barrier placed within the water, these waves bounce off the water and head in a different direction. ![]() The blue arrow is called a ray and is drawn perpendicular to the wavefronts. The direction that these wavefronts (straight-line crests) are traveling through the water is represented by the blue arrow. The diagram at the right depicts a series of straight waves approaching a long barrier extending at an angle across the tank of water. These waves will travel through the water until they encounter an obstacle - such as the wall of the tank or an object placed within the water. As viewed on the sheet of paper below the tank, the crests are the dark lines stretching across the paper and the troughs are the bright lines. These straight waves have alternating crests and troughs. If a linear object attached to an oscillator bobs back and forth within the water, it becomes a source of straight waves. Ripple tank demonstrations are commonly done in a Physics class in order to discuss the principles underlying the reflection, refraction, and diffraction of waves. As the waves encounter obstacles in their path, their behavior can be observed by watching the movement of the dark and bright spots on the sheet of paper. As the water waves move through the ripple tank, the dark and bright spots move as well. So the bright spots represent wave troughs and the dark spots represent wave crests. A crest of water will absorb more light than a trough. A portion of light is absorbed by the water as it passes through the tank. A light typically shines upon the water from above and illuminates a white sheet of paper placed directly below the tank. A ripple tank is a large glass-bottomed tank of water that is used to study the behavior of water waves. The study of waves in two dimensions is often done using a ripple tank. But what if the wave is traveling in a two-dimensional medium such as a water wave traveling through ocean water? Or what if the wave is traveling in a three-dimensional medium such as a sound wave or a light wave traveling through air? What types of behaviors can be expected of such two- and three-dimensional waves? Specifically, there will be some reflection off the boundary and some transmission into the new medium. Rather, a wave will undergo certain behaviors when it encounters the end of the medium. The wave doesn't just stop when it reaches the end of the medium. Previously in Lesson 3, the behavior of waves traveling along a rope from a more dense medium to a less dense medium (and vice versa) was discussed. ![]() While running around in the starting area, it keeps hovering between 55 and 60 FPS, with dips to below 40 FPS during combat. Without changing anything, the game automatically targets 60 FPS - although it quickly becomes apparent that it cannot keep locked at a constant framerate. The game defaults to an "Extra Low" settings preset at launch. ![]() How does Like A Dragon: Ishin! run on Steam Deck? But back to the game: I have been playing Like A Dragon: Ishin! on Steam Deck, and while it runs without any significant hiccups, a few minor changes to the graphical settings make for a much better experience. I can only recommend looking up this fascinating period in Japan's history. During what is known as Bakumatsu, the Tokugawa shogunate (basically a military dictatorship) found itself unwillingly ending its 200-year-long reign - foreign forces clashed with Japan, and the country underwent profound changes through rapid industrialization. Like A Dragon: Ishin! takes place in 1860s Kyoto, at the tumultuous end of the Edo period. Sakamoto Ryoma, but with the face of Kazuma Kiryu. In this franchise entry, the plot focuses on solving the mystery around the murder of Sakamoto Ryoma's adoptive father. However, when he is not "Super Pac-Man", he is far from invulnerable, (and there are also many ways for him to get injured and even die) these include getting flicked by the cow's tail at Stock Farm and seizing to death, getting attacked by the cat at Old Arcade, getting covered in ketchup by the hotdog vendor at Old Arcade (after you shoot him), tripping over a rock at Park and landing on a skateboard which flies up into the air then comes down on him, getting slammed into the wall of a pink-haired man's house after he opens his door on Village Way (but if he is angry, the opening door will just knock him back a little), and getting frustrated with Lucy's screaming in Lucy's Room (after you shoot her).
